Create a special garden craft with the Wells County Master Gardeners and enjoy some books and movies that you are sure to "dig." Held in conjuction with the City of Bluffton: Parks and Recreation Department's Touch a Truck event. No registration needed, but supplies are limited.

Gene Pelter Jr. of the Northern Indiana Grotto association will give a presentation on caving and spelunking. He'll discuss caving equipment and share pictures of caves in Indiana and around the U.S. This interactive presenation is for all ages, but it will be geared towards adults. Any children present must be accompanied by an adult.

The Northern Indiana Grotto plans trips to numerous caves and is active in conservation, photography, rappelling, and mapping.

Local art teacher Vicki VanMatre will give a demonstration on creating hand-built pottery, using both a press-mold technique and a coil technique. She will also demonstrate various decorating ideas. Students will get a chance to glaze and decorate a pre-made bowl built by Vicki. The bowl will then be fired in a kiln and can be picked up about a week after the class. Part of the cost will be donated by the Friends of the Library. However, there is a $15 materials charge that must be paid when you register. This includes all the supplies for creating your bowl, that you will get to keep and enjoy after the event. If you don't want to make the bowl, but would just like to attend the demonstration, there will be no cost. Please let a staff member know that when you register.
